The tactile scented book Walking through the Path of Giving is a remarkable example of an innovative approach to education and inclusivity. This unique book, created as part of an Erasmus project, combines nature, sensory experiences, and creativity to introduce students to the aromatic and medicinal plants of Croatia.
Students of Grigor Vitez Elementary School in Zagreb, guided by their teacher Ivana Dujmović, planted and nurtured the plants in the school garden. Their efforts culminated in this tactile scented book, which is not only educational but also tailored to students with visual impairments and special needs.
The book is designed as a teaching tool, enabling students to touch, smell, and learn about the diversity of plants, their uses, and their significance. Its inclusiveness and adaptability make it accessible to everyone while fostering awareness of nature and sustainability.
This project demonstrates how creativity and collaboration can enhance education, highlighting the importance of practical learning in developing ecological and sensory awareness among students.
