Students and teachers of our school collected medicines that were in their homes and were no longer needed. Using these medicines as raw material, we visited the volunteer team of the “Kapnikos Stathmos” for a experiential workshop during which students and educators were informed about the stages of sorting medicines until they reach the shelves of the social pharmacy. Students and educators sorted, recorded, and classified the medicines. They were guided through the space of the social pharmacy to observe all the stages of medicine sorting so that they have a complete picture of the shelves’ contents and easy access to them. Students realized how important the existence and support of the social pharmacy is. By collecting medicines we no longer need, we offer access to medical materials to people in difficult financial situations and at the same time protect the environment from chemical-pharmaceutical substances that would end up in the trash.
