School Vegetable Garden – Cultivating Solidarity and Social Responsibility

As part of our school’s ongoing social awareness and experiential learning initiatives, students are actively involved in the creation and care of a school vegetable garden.

This project goes beyond planting and gardening — it carries a strong social purpose, as the harvested vegetables will be donated to financially vulnerable families within our school community and beyond.

Through this initiative, students:

  • Learn hands-on about sustainable agriculture and food self-sufficiency

  • Develop values of giving, solidarity, and social responsibility

  • Strengthen their sense of belonging and active participation in the community

Love for nature, social contribution, and conscious consumption are values best nurtured from an early age – and the school garden offers a unique opportunity to educate responsible, environmentally aware, and socially engaged citizens.

This action is implemented within the framework of the Erasmus+ programme, aiming to promote ecological awareness, social responsibility, and collaborative, practical learning.
