On Thursday, May 8th, 2025, the students of Class E1 of the 19th Primary School of Katerini enthusiastically and wholeheartedly participated in the action “Beautifying My City”, as part of the Erasmus+ European program titled “Walking the Paths of Giving.”
The action took place at Katerini Park, where the students, under the guidance of their teacher Mr. Seitanidis, the school nurse Ms. Dimitra Tsaknaki, and with the support of the Municipality of Katerini, planted flowers and ornamental plants, thus actively contributing to the enhancement of urban greenery and the aesthetic improvement of an important public space in our city.
Through this action, the children engaged with the concepts of environmental awareness, teamwork, and volunteerism, understanding that caring for shared public spaces is a responsibility we all share.
By adopting experiential activities, we aim to foster students’ desire to contribute to the community, take initiatives, and become ACTIVE CITIZENS.
Our school continues its active participation in the Erasmus+ program, nurturing in students attitudes and values that promote active citizenship, ecological awareness, and social responsibility.
We would like to especially thank the Municipality of Katerini and the Deputy Mayor of Green Spaces, Mr. Kostas Tsoukanis, for their valuable support and collaboration.
